Press Release, February 7, 2007
“I helped kill a man while serving my two-year LDS mission. I didn’t even try
to help save him when I had the chance—and I did have that chance, but I
passed it up. So much for the Parable of the Good Samaritan. So much for
loving your neighbor.”
Such starts the short story Fatal Broken Heart, which is an excerpt from
his as-yet unpublished novel The Kumina Man. This short story, which
placed in the AML Short Fiction Contest in 2005, has been published in
the latest issue of the official publication of the Association for Mormon
Letters, the Irreantum Magazine.
